Can you Colour Milliput?

Liquid colourings, like enamel paints, oil paints, spirit based-dyes or pigments can also be used to colour Milliput, but liquids or pastes may be difficult to introduce into the putty. Small quantities should be used to avoid creating a very wet mix that may be difficult to mix.
Can you polish Milliput?

It polishes up beautifully and takes a lovely deep shine if you finish it off with beeswax polish. However, it does need very careful finishing as the slightest mark shows up when it’s shiny (I use progressively finer grades of glasspaper).

Speed of hardening is dependant on temperature and at normal temperatures (20-25ºC) Milliput becomes rock hard in three to four hours. By the application of heat the setting time can be reduced to a few minutes.

Air dry will work fine too but it can be prone to cracking as it dries since it’s water based. Use the Milliput to fix that. You could use air dry for your head and body parts and Milliput for the jointed areas since it’ll be more robust.14-Jul-2020

How do you soften Milliput?

How do you harden putty?
What you do:
Mix the salt and flour in a bowl.
Add water gradually to form a ball.
Knead (pound, roll and pull) until it no longer falls apart.
Do your project and allow it to dry at room temperature for approximately 2 day (more for larger or thinker projects).
Paint.
Store any unused clay in a sealed bag in the fridge.
Is Milliput better than green stuff?

MIlliput is chemically harsher than green stuff. People who have used Milliput over extended periods without wearing gloves have had issues with skin rashes and peeling. Milliput has the advantage of being a great putty to use if you need to carve or sand complex shapes.04-Aug-2015

Milliput can be used for repairs on many types of materials including metals, plastics, masonry, wood, glass and ceramics and can be used in places where welding is impractical.
How strong is Milliput?

2. Milliput is very strong mehcnaically but is not much good as an adhesive. When you use it you need to make sure you work a bit into the structure of whatever it is your joining to fomr a mechanical bond.12-Sep-2004
