They were rushed to the Great Wall, where Sakuya apologized for choosing him but he professed his love to her and they kissed. In the end, due to various circumstances, both Sakuya and Norb failed to pass the Great Wall and were left to suffer the consequences.
Eureka Seven AO isn’t worth taking seriously and introduces many of the ideas that are further explored in the 2005 series. Even though it falls short in a few areas, it is a decent introduction to the franchise and some of its themes. Recommended for mecha fans whom would like to see something with a different vibe.
It is arguably the 2nd most heartbreaking episode in the second half of the series behind the one where Ray Beams dies. One of the biggest tearjerkers in the series didn’t come from the anime, but rather its manga adaptation. Despite defeating the Big Bad, Eureka eventually succumbs to her wounds.
One of the manga titled Eureka Seven: AO which was serialized in Shōnen Ace between January 2012 and October 2013, was further adapted into an anime series which aired twenty-four episodes in Japan between April and November 2012.

BONES was originally going to make the story about Eureka giving up seven pieces of her most important memories to the planet in order to stop the Limit of Questions, and afterwords, she would disappear and part ways with Renton forever. That’s why it was named Eureka Seven.
